A simple introduction
This text is a Śākta Upanishad. The Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa remains the epic door by which most readers first meet Sītā. This recension asks a different question: who is Sītā at the level of sacred metaphysics? It presents her as primordial prakṛti and divine power, and associates her with Śrī and Mahālakṣmī. The two hearings sit beside each other. Each keeps its own dignity.
Three powers are named so a newcomer can sit with the metaphysical vision: icchā, the power of will; jñāna, the power of knowledge; kriyā, the power of action. Sītā as prakṛti is the ground from which the world of forms unfolds. Sītā as Śakti is the living power of that unfolding. The familiar epic figure is not discarded; she is reheard as the same presence spoken in another key.

How to read it
Keep the two doors distinct while you read. When the prose names prakṛti and the three powers, stay with the metaphysical question. When you long for the forest path of the epic, open Vālmīki as Vālmīki.
Natural, respectful speech is enough. The name Sītā is large enough to hold both hearings without crowding either.
Sit with icchā, jñāna, and kriyā as a simple grammar of power. Then return to the epic heroine with that grammar still warm, so the forest path and the metaphysical name can honour one another across two rooms of this house.

देवा ह वै प्रजापतिमब्रुवन्का सीता किं रूपमिति । स होवाच प्रजापतिः सा सीतेति । मूलप्रकृतिरूपत्वात्सा सीता प्रकृतिः स्मृता ।
The gods said to Prajāpati: ‘Who is Sītā? Of what form?’ Prajāpati said: ‘She is Sītā. Because She has the form of root-prakṛti, Sītā is remembered as Prakṛti.’
