Shree Meenananda Foundation
Bolpur and Santiniketan travel
The Ashram is in the same district as Santiniketan. Telephone before you travel. Third-party attractions are not owned by the Foundation.
Shree Meenananda Ashram stands at Gopikantapur, Kopai, Birbhum 731201 — in the Bolpur–Santiniketan cultural corridor of West Bengal. Use this page to place a Foundation visit beside Santiniketan, not to treat the shrine as a tourist ticketed site. Kilometres, train times and attraction fees are marked unpublished until staff verify them.
Why this corridor
The Ashram stands in Gopikantapur, Kopai, Birbhum 731201 — the same district as Bolpur and Santiniketan (also spelled Shantiniketan). Travellers often combine a cultural visit to Santiniketan with a telephone-booked call at the shrine. This page does not invent kilometre figures, train numbers, or opening hours for third-party attractions.

How to reach — what is published
- Locality: Kopai, Birbhum, West Bengal. Map query used on this site: Gopikantapur Kopai Birbhum 731201.
- Rail: Bolpur Shantiniketan is the published station name for the Santiniketan area. Exact trains, platforms and journey times belong to Indian Railways / IRCTC — last verified on this page: not yet timed by the Foundation.
- From Kolkata: people commonly use Howrah or Sealdah corridor trains toward Bolpur, or road via NH routes. Realistic door-to-door times vary with season, fog and bandh days. [CMS: add a timed dry-season and monsoon sample after a staff journey log.]
- From Santiniketan / Bolpur town: local road to Kopai. Distance in kilometres is unpublished until measured.
A cautious itinerary shape
- Telephone the Ashram. Visiting hours are not a fixed public board.
- If you are also seeing Santiniketan, treat Visva-Bharati, Uttarayan, and local markets as independent attractions with their own rules. They are not owned by the Foundation.
- Evening kirtan is daily, subject to confirmation, without a posted clock time. Do not plan a tight last-train connection around an unpublished hour.
Season, access, etiquette
Birbhum summers are hot; the monsoon makes village roads slower. Wheelchair and inner-shrine access have not been fully surveyed for publication. Dress modestly, remove shoes where asked, and do not interrupt puja for photographs.
