Shree Meenananda Foundation
Gopikantapur, Kopai, Birbhum — arriving at Meenananda Ashram
The published place of the shrine, and how it sits beside Bolpur and Santiniketan — without invented kilometres or a second ashram in Kolkata.
Gopikantapur, Kopai, Birbhum 731201, West Bengal, India is the published home of Shree Meenananda Ashram. Kopai is the locality — and a river of the district. Come by arrangement. Do not treat an automated map pin as a surveyed coordinate.

Kopai and Birbhum
Kopai is the published locality of the Ashram. It is also the name of a river in Birbhum. Birbhum is the district; West Bengal is the state. Suri is the district headquarters. None of those facts authorises a kilometre figure from the shrine to the river, to Suri, or to Bolpur until staff measure it.
Beside Bolpur and Santiniketan
Gopikantapur sits in the same district as Bolpur and Santiniketan (also spelled Shantiniketan). Travellers often combine a cultural visit with a telephone-booked call at this shrine. Visva-Bharati and other Santiniketan sites are independent; they are not Foundation property and their hours are not copied here.
Arrival preparation
- Telephone +91 9831117349 or +91 8240908608. Do not assume the shrine is open to casual tourism at every hour.
- Ask about evening kirtan if that is your reason for coming. It is daily, subject to confirmation, without a posted clock time.
- Dress modestly, remove shoes where asked, and do not interrupt puja for photographs. Wheelchair and inner-shrine access have not been fully surveyed for publication.
