Knowledge as the Divine Feminine

Sarasvatī, Vāk, and the question of knowing.

   The ṛṣis honoured blessed Āśvalāyana and asked: ‘By what means is that knowledge which lights its object? By what sitting-near do you know the real? Blessed one, speak.’

2. 2 Sāvitrī Upaniṣad 8 (Sanskrit Documents numbering) primary_text

   Who is Savitṛ? Who is Sāvitrī? Mind is Savitṛ; Speech is Sāvitrī. Where mind is, there is speech; where speech is, there is mind. Those two sources are one pair.

3. 3 Bhāvanā Upaniṣad, knower-knowledge-known (Sanskrit Documents recension) primary_text

   The knower is the hotṛ; knowledge is the fire; the known is the offering. The contemplation of non-difference of knower, knowing and known is Śrīcakra-pūjana.
