How texts, translations and commentaries are identified

Canonical source text is Sanskrit in Devanagari, copied from a named public-domain edition or saṃhitā. It is not generated.

Transliteration is IAST, so a reader without Devanagari can still hear the shape of the words.

Close translation tries to stay near the grammar. Reader-friendly meaning may unfold a compound or a cultural gesture. They are stored apart so one cannot masquerade as the other.

Traditional commentary, when present, names its school or author. A sentence from Śaṅkara is labelled as such. Silence in that layer means we have not yet sourced a bhashya, not that none exists.

Meenananda editorial explanation is this Ashram’s public teaching voice. It may point to puja, to compassion, to the Guru. It never claims to be the only reading, and it never sells a fruit of mantra.
